Franco Coria paired with A.J. Soares in central defense for the New England Revolution season-opener, a 1-1 draw with the LA Galaxy at The Home Depot Center. Coria went on to play 17 games (14 starts), often in a makeshift lineup.
Coria, from Los Toldos (Evita Peron’s hometown), had been playing for Chacarita Juniors, and later started for Sarmiento in Argentina’s first division.

In a Lewis Cup game, “a steady deluge of showers drenched 12,000 fans, but they stayed to the end,” according to The Boston Globe’s 1/16/1925 editions.
Boston’s 2-0 victory over the New York Nationals “means that Massachusetts has three teams out of the four remaining in this professional Cup series, making clearer the argument that New England teams are the game’s best supports (sic) from both a playing and financial point of view.”
