A.J. Soares became a New England Revolution starter in central defense, paired with Franco Coria, in the team’s season-opener, a 1-1 draw with the Los Angeles Galaxy at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., on March 20, 2011. Soares, who totaled 101 appearances and five goals in all competitions with the Revolution, concluded his time with the team in the 2014 MLS Cup final, a 2-1 extra time loss to the Galaxy at the StubHub Center in Carson.
