Both goals were scored by RC Lens’ Francois Brisson, France going on to win the Olympic title.
Six soccer matches were staged over a six-day period at Harvard Stadium, starting with a Chile-Norway 0-0 draw before 25,000 on July 29. Cameroon, Canada, Iraq and Qatar also competed at Harvard.
Brisson and Lens teammate Daniel Xuereb scored as France took a 2-0 win over Brazil in the final before 101,799 at the Rose Bowl on Aug. 11, 1984.
