The Fall River Rovers had apparently established a reputation for attacking on the wings, according to the Boston Globe: “… the Rovers made one of their old-time bursts and forced the ball past the wings of their opponents, through the fullbacks to the mouth of the goal, where a grand scrimmage took place. In the melee which followed the Rovers scored a second goal … This game makes the Rovers the winners of the interstate championship badges.”
