Tommy Florie scored twice, including a wind-blown “Olimpico,” as Providence took a 2-0 lead before falling to a Fall River rally. Providence was leading by two goals in the 18th minute, but lost Egyptian forward Tewfik Abdallah to a broken leg in a clash with Coyle. Abdallah was taken to Fall River General Hospital. “Spectators Soaked, but 10,000 Stick it out” (The Boston Globe)

George A.G. Wood resigns as Boston Soccer FC president, succeeded by Thomas Grieve. Wood, vice president of the Mystic Steamship Co., started with Boston Consolidated Gas Co. in 1906. In 1927, Wood elected president of the New England Fuel and Transportation Co.
