The Rhode Island Oceaneers won third game of three-game series to capture ASL championship. Oceaneers (16W-0L-2D, 34 points) led league in goals (47) and GA (9), Manfred Schellscheidt named coach of the year.

Joe-Max Moore scores 42nd and final career Revolution goal, Shalrie Joseph converts first goal for team. Crew took a 2-0 lead on goals by Kyle Martino and Eric Denton. Moore’s free kick (78), Joseph’s equalizer (81) and Joe Franchino’s free kick (97) decided the match. The Revolution (8W-9L-9D, 33 points) escaped the Eastern Conference cellar.
