Former Boston College forward Paul Keegan’s 88th-minute goal qualified the Revolution for the MLS playoffs in the final game of the season. Keegan, an early substitute for Imad Baba (injured after a Wade Webber tackle from behind), scored his only goal of the season off a throw-in from current Revolution general manager Mike Burns.

The New England Revolution were among the MLS teams bidding for Lalas, who was preparing to play in Copa America for the U.S. and for the 1995-96 Serie A season with Padova. May 13, 2000 – Free kick hat trick, Revolution defeat D.C. Utd.; new striker on way?
The Revolution earned three free kicks, three different players converting all three in a 3-1 victory over D.C. United. Wolde Harris (15th minute) equalized, a minute after a Jaime Moreno goal, then Mauricio Ramos (65th) and Imad Baba (82nd) scored and Jeff Causey saved a Moreno penalty kick in the second half. The Revolution improved their unbeaten streak to five games, their longest streak in five years of existence, and were on the way to their first .500 season. Coach Fernando Clavijo inserted Mike Burns into a holding midfield role in the second half, and the tactic worked as Burns slowed Moreno. April 21, 1996 – New England Revolution prepare for inaugural MLS home game
New England Revolution investor/operator Jonathan Kraft said the team had released additional tickets for the Saturday, April 27 visit from D.C. United. On April 20, the Revolution registered their first victory (1-0 over the New York/New Jersey MetroStars at Giants Stadium).
